A pencil drawing of the group statue of “Athena Protecting the Young Hero”(German: Der junge Held wird von Athena beschützt).
This is an 1854 sculpture by Gustav Bläser, installed on Schlossbrücke in Berlin, Germany.
Athena (Greek : Ἀθηνᾶ), often given the epithet Pallas, is an ancient Greek goddess associated with wisdom, handicraft, and warfare who was later syncretized with the Roman goddess Minerva. Daughter of Zeus, the king of Gods, Athena was regarded as the patron and protectress of various cities across Greece, particularly the city of Athens, from which she most likely received her name. Athena was a warrior goddess, and was believed to lead soldiers into battle as Athena Promachos.
The Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens is dedicated to her.
Her major symbols include owls, olive trees, snakes, and the Gorgoneion.
