A pencil drawing of a bronze portrait bust of “Nach dem kampf” (After the battle) made by Hans Bühler. Exhibited in Haus der Deutschen Kunst, GDK 1943, Munich.
It depicts a worn out soldier of the Wehrmacht after a battle, wearing a Stahlhelm (‘steel helmet’).
This was also on the cover of the 1944 edition of the Deutsche Illustrierte no.1.
Hans Adolf Bühler (June 4, 1877 in Steinen - October 19, 1951 in Sponeck Castle near Jechtingen) was a German painter and cultural politician.
Unfortunately the whereabouts of this statue is unknown.
