A pencil drawing of “The Horse Tamer” (German : Der Rossebändiger) bronze equestrian statue by Josef Lax in front of the Austrian Parliament in Vienna.
This is one of a set of 4 equestrian statues, all erected on powerful pedestals on either side of the Pallas-Athena Fountain in 1901.
These intended to symbolize the suppression of the passions that are necessary for successful and orderly parliamentary cooperation.
