A pencil drawing of a bronze statue “Der Fechter” - “The Fencer” by Hugo Lederer. It depicts a fencer caught in the moment of bending his foil with his right hand. During a fencing match, when a weapon gets bent (backward) it has to be straightened by the fencer. This action often functions as a short moment of unconscious concentration.
