A pencil drawing of Arno Breker’s The Worker / Der Arbeiter. Drawn after the bronze cast in the private collection of a dear friend and client.
The sculpture shows a worker with a hammer in his hand, wearing a shirt, sleeves rolled up.
Cast in 1954/55, commissioned by former manager of Schies de Fries (former metal industry).
According to Carola Breker, Arno’s daughter, there were only 4 or 5 casts produced in this size.
The original version was 2 metres in height. Bronze is signed, foundry marked.
Height 61.5 cm, weight 17.4 kg.
